Starting now I'm set to take my work and team with A Working Man's Diary. I'll be contributing the same kinds of posts there, which will also feature some hilarious and interesting insight from fellow co-workers and friends. Ch-Ch-Changes are in order. Thanks to Dub Jeezy for the warm welcome. It's certainly a privilege to be apart of the AWMD corporation. After hours of negotiation we were finally able to reach contract agreement...which ended up being the Rolling Rocks I happily consumed during the time of discussion. My two cents on the diary will cover anything interesting and current in the world of sports...So without further ado I give you my debut post.

The 38-19 Denver Nuggets are showcasing some of the best basketball the league has to offer. Not only have they proved themselves as major championship contenders. Their starting five also collectively represents the craziest looking squad ever to hit the parquet floor. (Continue reading)

Welcome to Boston Nate Robinson

The deal is supposedly still pending but it's been "up in the air" for the past two days...I'll take the leap here and state the fact that Nate Robinson is officially a Boston Celtic. I think the move is beneficial in the sense that we have a true PG to back Rondo. He's also a guy who can step up and score, not to mention his abilities to jump through the roof. The 3X Dunk champ may just be the spark we need to be recognized among the top two/three teams in the East again.

"Nate is one of the great athletes in the league and he brings a dynamic scorer to our team," said Danny Ainge. "We have been seeking a second ball-handler capable of penetrating the defense and we believe that he provides that. We love Nate's ability to pressure the ball defensively and we think he can add to our defense as well as our offense."

Unfortunately when one arrives another must leave (+ JR Giddens/Bill Walker). Eddie House will surely be missed, and I'd love to see him continue on to post some great numbers for the Knicks. I always thought he'd be able to start on a mid-level team if the opportunity ever came. Well the time is now so let's see what he can do with it. Things aren't looking too bad in New York either with the recent deal for McGrady (barring injury of course).

So finally the trade deadline is in the past and squads are set for the remainder of the 2010 season. I was going to have a heart attack all day with the rumors floating. The Cavs pulled in Jamison but at least they couldn't land Amare. As for the C's, we kept Ray in Green and still found a way to further improve the roster. Let the quest for 18 begin.

Who's Ready for Vancouver Curling?

Some interesting Winter Olympic festivities are about to be aired on TV. Yes ladies and gentlemen I'm talking about curling...the most confusing contest ever to reach the Olympics. The skiing/shotgun target challenge may rival but i think overall curling takes the cake.

How do you reach pro level in curling? Where do you find these leagues or training facilities? Who created the concept of bringing a life size shuffle board style game to the ice with brooms? What kind of workout regiments do these athletes put themselves through in order to stay in top form? Why does this happen? I gotta find some answers.

Dub Jeezy, founder and CEO of A Working Man's Diary showed me this clip the other day and it led me to browse and discover quite the compilation video. If you click on the link provided, you'll be able to witness the Toronto Raptors mascot eating, yes eating...a cheerleader at center court.

I didn't think anything could get better until I stumbled across this montage of screw ups and unpracticed mascots losing their jobs. Houston Rockets win the MVP here their guy is all over the highlight tape. Enjoy.

Paul Pierce Earns 2010 3-Point Title

Hope everyone was able to witness Paul Pierce net 20 in the final round to claim victory and silence the haters in the 2010 3-point contest. This had to be the highlight of Saturday's festivities with the dismal dunk contest that followed.

Here comes the bold statement... Pierce has gotta be one of the best 4th quarter players in the game. Yesterday was no different as he proceeded to hit 8-of-10 money balls.

In the midst of it all Sir Charles evidently couldn't handle the Truth, saying "Kevin McHale would roll over in his grave if he knew you said Pierce was in the top ten Celtics of all time." McHale's dead?...Is this reference to the Timberwolves struggles? I don't know what Barkley was thinking but it sure made for some good television as he muttered through the competition. Other notable Barkley statements were....

"This thing is worse than... what's that movie? Rush Hour. Rush Hour 2 was alright, but this is worse than Rush Hour 3." (In reference to the dunk contest)

"Kevin Garnett and Michael Jordan and Peyton Manning - Gatorade works. It don't work on Leroy." (Nice Gatorade Plug)

Kenny Smith - "If you can do something consistently, you can adjust and make work." Barkley responded, "That's what I said about my golf game, and that ain't workin."

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater at the warehouse...So many wasted hours and memories. I don't know how much time was spent perfecting the 720 Christ Air over the half pipe land into a Crooked Grind 360 Variable 50/50 into a 540 Benihana...yeah I wasn't kidding around. Then when they put manuals in for the 2nd version the million point scores followed like clockwork. We were all down with Hawk back in the day. What a soundtrack on top of it all.

Who Dat?! Big Ups to the New Orleans Saints

Apologies for the posting dely here. A necessary big ups is certainly in order. The New Orleans Saints finally claimed their first Super Bowl in 43 years, making Peyton Manning the most legendary quarterback to produce no more than a .500 postseason record. It's never too late to miss a Manning face opportunity...Sunday night captured a handful of priceless new expressions. The link provided shows a good amount of Archie and Eli as well.

I've never had so much fun as a bandwagon fan. Drew Brees just created his own legacy along with allowing one of the best excuses for the Big Easy to party hard for the next month or so. See how fans took over South Beach right after the big game...Hard to imagine how the parade must have been this afternoon.

Meanwhile, ESPN decided to pick odds for the 2011 Super Bowl already. Indianapolis is a 7-1 favorite to take home the NFL championship, followed by the San Diego Chargers (8-1), New Orleans Saints (9-1) and the New England Patriots (10-1). Maybe they should give it a few days and let the year sink in a bit..But yeah we'll see what the NFL has in store with the uncapped year ahead.

2010 Dunk Contest Better than Expected?

This brilliant McDonald's advertisement was aired before kickoff yesterday to further remind us that LeBron isn't planning to take part in the 2010 dunk contest as originally promised. But maybe...just maybe...are we being tricked here? Could it be scripted to keep it low until the time of the actual event, where the superstars come out of nowhere to give us the show we've all been hoping for?? Not likely, but it's okay to keep optimistic. This had to be my favorite commercial of the night, mostly due to Larry Legend's cameo.

Hope Super Bowl XLIV Runs Similar to This

My sole wish for this year's Super Bowl is a close game. I'll root for New Orleans but certainly wouldn't lose any sleep if it went the other way (Peyton would still be a ring short)...But no one wants to witness a blow out unless their respective team is in the big show...other than that the simple formula to a good Super Bowl is shootouts, close games, commercials, food and beer.

Sunday's contest shows a great amount of potential, but I don't think anything can and will ever compare to Plano East down 41-17 with 3 minutes to go and...well you can see what happens. One things for sure...if the network somehow extended an invite to these announcers it'd be one hell of a national broadcast.

Somebody's gotta say it...I can't believe this event has carried on for the past 120+ years. There's actually a Groundhog Club? How do you go about being in this club...I don't think I'd take the time out if you payed me. What a surprise though the shadow was spotted and the thousands in attendance went wild..wait what? I don't know who's wishing for more winter but I think I'll go with weather predictions over the most ridiculous tradition our country has to offer.

My man #85 is back! The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, avid tweeter and NFL's greatest entertainer is asking the questions this time around leading up to Super Bowl XLIV. Chad just recently paired with Motorola and ESPN to create OCNN, giving the real scoop behind the most highly anticipated athletic event of the year. He's also taking fellow NFL Pro Bowlers Ray Rice, Chris Cooley and Darnell Dockett under his wing to further capture the festivities.

"Hey, everyone. I know you love following me on Twitter, so now you can get a chance to read me in more than 140 characters at a time," said Chad in his introductory column. "This is going to be awesome.I know most of you want to hear what I have to say. You think I'm entertaining. You never know what's going to happen. What kind of bizarre things are about to go down through OCNN. The coverage and content will likely be better than Fox to say the least. Ochocinco running the show, saying whatever is on his mind, in control with his own network. Can't wait.

Who's Ready for 2010 Super Bowl Ads?

I know this wasn't featured from 6-10 PM last February 1st...But my man Sammy Stephens proves right here through his "Mini Mall Rap" that you certainly don't need a heavy budget to create one of the best commercials ever.

On a side note this bye weekend downtime is somewhat torturous for NFL fans, especially with the Pro Bowl in place today before the actual main event. I don't know what the league was thinking here, but all I can process is that we won't be seeing any players from either of the top two teams. Anyway I'm definitely looking forward to all of the upcoming Bowl festivities 7 days from now.

Big Ups to Ken Griffey Jr.

My absolute go-to columnist Rick Reilly from ESPN Magazine brought something to my attention today in his featured article this week...The more steroids are brought up (McGuire being the latest story) the better Ken Griffey Jr. ranks in baseball history.

Griffey, Jeter and maybe a few other notables look like gold in this era especially. The only thing they've recieved are league awards and clean records throughout their established careers.

So I'm going to take this opportunity to give a warm hearted big ups to my childhood hero Griffey Jr. in light of all that he's accomplished since joining the league in 1989 (when I was 2 years old). In over 20 years Griffey has kept the same hat size while racking up a total of 2763 hits, 630 homers and 1829 RBI's...that's certainly hard to come by in the present day. With this I give you Reilly's insight...

2010 Dunk Contest May Disappoint

Promises were made and promises will not be delivered in this year's NBA Dunk Contest at Cowboy Stadium in front of the 80,000 in attendance. LeBron James stated last year that he'd take part in the festivities and encourage others like Kobe and D-Wade to compete alongside him. Well it looks as though the scrubs are back with the 5'8 Nate Robinson taking charge again. Seriously what's it gonna take for the real superstars to get back into this thing. Shaq proposed a fundraiser for Haiti where the winner would collect half the proceeds (nice gesture big man).

I Should Re-evaluate my Bandwagon Skills

Should I be allowed to root for the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV? Should I even be allowed to watch the big game??? Let me explain how I'm handling the ever so difficult 2010 NFL Playoffs.

It all starts with my beloved New England Patriots falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the first five minutes of play in the opening round. From there I thought I hit rock bottom...boy was I wrong. So then what do fans do when their squad is out? Pick another team to root for of course. There's just one problem for me (or about six)...The next team I choose to go with keeps losing in their next contest.

That night after the Pats were defeated I decided to pull for the Green Bay Packers to keep any hope for Aaron Rodgers to get the opportunity to stick it to Brett Favre in one of the later NFC rounds. Turns out the Arizona Cardinals defense took one in for 6 to wrap the biggest shootout of the year to send Green Bay home packing. Hmm...what should I do next? Hey Kurt Warner seems like a good guy...maybe I'll cheer for the Cardinals in the upcoming Divisional round. Bad Idea...

From there we shift over to the AFC games where I simply despised every remaining team. I actually wanted the Chargers to win in the second round over the Jets. Once Sanchez, Revis and Co. made a statement in San Diego I was hoping for an upset over the Indianapolis Colts. Last Sunday the only thing I witnessed was Manning showcasing the 4-time MVP type performance you fear you're gonna take when he's out there against you. Alright so now the Colts are in. As long as the Saints or Vikings steal the Lombardi away I'm satisfied.

Sunday night's events made everything clear. I found myself rooting for Favre somehow. I guess It's just a love hate sort of thing...but the other reason I became vocal for the Viks is because everyone in the bar I was at in California were all about New Orleans, so I figured it'd be a good idea to get some competition going. 9 fumbles and 2 INT's later I'm thinking I shouldn't watch the NFL anymore unless its for New England.

So here I stand at a crossroads. I'm thinking the Saints need this title and if they don't claim victory over Indianapolis it's truly all my fault. Officially the worst bandwagon fan in the history of NFL post-season play right here. For anyone who's reading, I sincerely apologize for taking part in eliminating your respective organizations.

Who's Ready: Saints Vikings NFC Title Match

Listen I know there's two games on Sunday...I just can't get hyped about this AFC game as a Pats fan. I think I'm gonna have to pull for the Jets to play spoiler over the Colts like they did in Cincy and San Diego...But this NFC matchup is one for the ages the way these two teams have produced offensively this season. I wonder how the 'Who Nat' nation will respond to Favre when he steps in the Superdome. The Kiln, MS native's first love was the Saints back in the day. Minnesota should stay away from relaxed fit if they're gonna rock the wranglers cause this game should be one hell of a shootout.

I was planning to post a Best of Athletes on Twitter: 2009 Edition to ring in the new year...didn't get around to it on time but I figure better late than never. I gotta say Twitter has been fantastic in regards to overall controversy and stupidity in professional sports. I have been thoroughly entertained, shocked and saddened all at the same time following statements from those who collect my yearly salary in less than five minutes. We can only hope for the tweets to keep rollin' in. So here's my top 5 sports 'role models' who choose to share their thoughts, emotions and opinions to the world through various comments on Twitter...

Robert Henson, Washington Redskins: "All you fake half hearted Skins fans can..I won’t go there but I dislike you very strongly, don’t come to Fed Ex to boo dim wits!!" Page later deleted

Before You Boast Your Pool Skills

Love the jazzy up tempo jam for the highlights by the way...great touch. But seriously how many attempts, hours of practice and set up did this take?? Could've been a decade affair for all we know.

General Larry Platt: Web Sensation & American Hero

I know its blowing up everywhere else, but I just couldn't resist sharing the best thing to hit You Tube since 'Charlie Bit Me.' To take it a bit further I'd like to address how quickly General Larry Platt became recognized around the world. In a matter of hours after his segment on American Idol, his name almost immediately reached the top spot in all web searches. Turns out there's more to General Platt aside from his commitment to policing pants wear.

Platt was not a general in the army, but an important civil rights leader in Atlanta during the 1960s. In fact, the City of Atlanta designated September 4, 2001 as Larry Platt Day for his "priceless and immeasurable contributions to society" and "his great energy and commitment to equality and the protection of the innocent and for his outstanding service to the Atlanta community and the citizens of Georgia"(Wikipedia)

So the creator of our country's new #1 chant to ring in the new decade was also a Civil Rights hero back in the day. The General certainly solidified himself a place in our history if he hadn't already. So big ups to you Larry Platt. Thanks for all that you've done through the decades. Now if you'll excuse me I have some belts to purchase.

Doc Rivers Fined 25K? Really?

What was going on with NBA officials Monday night at the Garden? First they call a flagrant foul on Glen 'Big Baby' Davis 6:00 into the third quarter after preventing an easy breakaway layup.

Following the play Doc Rivers rightfully acted displeased and let his emotions go, which in turn led to his immediate ejection. This came with a side of assistant Armond hill being whistled for the fourth straight technical...giving the Hawks a handful of free throws, the ball back and a 102-96 victory over the Celtics.

The cherry on top came today when Rivers was fined 25 grand for the way he handled the situation. "They admit that the call was wrong," said Rivers. "Of all the fines I've ever had, this is by far the most disappointing. I just don't get this one. I watched a couple of coaches last week run out on the floor and no fine. I get fined for being right."

You tell 'em Doc...seriously what the hell is wrong with these guys. The referees basically gift wrapped that game for Atlanta and this is how the league responds. The C's are next set to matchup with the dismal New Jersey Nets franchise tonight before hosting the Chicago Bulls back in Boston.

Big Ups to Warner and the Arizona Cardinals

I just recently deciding I'm jumping on the Arizona Cardinals bandwagon for the rest of the post-season following their performance Sunday night (with the Patriots being knocked out and all...won't even go there). This has to be the best game of the year so far...Neither team was willing to call the quits, resulting in a 51-45 OT shootout in favor of Kurt Warner and his Cardinals.

I'm gonna be honest here I kind of wanted to see Green Bay advance for Rodgers to get another shot at Brett Favre if they made it to the NFC Championship...but I don't mind seeing Warner notch another W. I've been cool with Kurt since we beat him in the Super Bowl. But 29 of 33 completed passes for 379 yards and five touchdowns for the veteran 38-year old...Not so bad is it?

Terry Glenn Leaves Me Confused

It's a struggle out there for my childhood sports heroes lately. First we got Antoine Walker gambling his life away to Terry Glenn reportedly stealing a car. The former #1 Bledsoe target claimed to be renting out a "missing" SUV which subsequently led to his arrest. I don't know if I understand how there can be any type of miscommunication here...

Last year he was taken in to the big house for public intoxication and marijuana possession, so I might still have to side with the car dealership on this one. Maybe Glenn didn't want to commit a crime... but on the other hand...he may just be very, very stupid.

So if he wants to fight this and come out on top, I'd say step 1 is to get a new lawyer no matter the case. His current attorney Luis Vera spoke out on the issue, calling it the "biggest crock of garbage." I'm not quite sure where these guys find their lawyers, but "crock of garbage" shouldn't be the choice of words when speaking out to the media about this type of situation. But either way best of luck to you Terry Glenn. Here's to remembering the good times...

New Developments: NBA Jam for Wii

When I first heard word of a new and improved NBA Jam I didn't know how to react. Part of me can't wait for its release just to see how well the new tandems matchup. I definitely spent countless hours back in the day tearing it up with Stockton and Malone. Today's favorites should be LeBron-Shaq or Kobe-Gasol...clearly. But wait a minute...NBA Jam...for the Wii?? Nintendo Wii: Where Sports Games Go To Die

In an effort by Nintendo to wackify sports games and create a video-game only environment for today's youth, they decided to remake NBA Jam. I nearly threw up in my own pass out when I got wind of this news. I've wasted potentially 600 1993 dollars on this game in quarters. That's like 722 dollars today(what up dollar value)! Tom Brady: Comeback Player of the Year

I am pleased to further announce the AP's wise decision to recognize Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady as the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. This season Brady racked up over 4,300 yards and 28 touchdowns...six of which were produced during New England's 59-0 demolishing over the Tennessee Titans back in October.

The 3X Super Bowl champion showcased a record breaking 2007 campaign, throwing for 50 TD's as the team posted a perfect 16-0 record. The following year he suffered a devastating knee injury, eventually returning in 2009 to lead the Patriots right back where they belong atop the AFC East Division.

New England has their first playoff test on Sunday against the 9-7 Baltimore Ravens. With Welker sidelined they'll be sure to call on Moss, Edelman and Faulk to step up and make some plays. As for Brady, his men will be ready but also lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all...their capacity for good...They have sent us Tom.

NBA Power Rankings All Mixed Up

ESPN's Marc Stein ranked the Cavaliers on top this week over the LA Lakers and Boston Celtics for the second week in a row and this is his reasoning...

"The Cleveland Cavaliers gave their rivals an opening by losing a home game Sunday night to one of the league's worst road teams. None of those rivals, though, is in any condition to take advantage. So let me get this straight. The Lakers just handled the Dallas Mavericks without All-Star center Pau Gasol while the healthy Cavaliers came up short against the 14-18 Charlotte Bobcats? Did Stein fall asleep last night before doing his homework or what? Cleveland has suffered 9 losses so far this season to LA's 6.

As for the Celtics this is what he had to say: "Injury issues have started earlier this season. The list of health worries is a lot longer than last season's, too." So Garnett tweaked his knee and Doc is taking the expected precautions. Did he miss the fact that Pierce and Rondo are set to return 100% this week..guess not.

It's alright to have speculation here but not after praising the Celtics like no other to start the season. He listed the C's at #1 in November before changing their rank to #8 just two weeks later. After taking the top spot once again last month, Boston now finds themselves slipping in Stein's not so insightful flip-flop happy power rankings. For next week just two requests. 1) Stick with your story. 2) If you're going to post official rankings on ESPN.com...please watch the games before hand.

Holidays Over = Winter Fun Over

Don't get me wrong I can appreciate a nice Christmas snowfall but this weekend's unpredicted blizzard was just outrageous. Even going outside to Dunkin Donuts was a huge process in the miserable and freezing Boston air. Nothing like waking up in the morning to your car looking like a snow fort and sitting there for an additional 10 minutes just to be able to see through the windshield.

When the holidays are over I don't really find the urge to further experience anymore outdoor winter activities so with this said...let the countdown to spring officially begin.

I vow never to complain about the winter season anymore this year...but today I just couldn't help myself. The one thing I really should address is the lack of accurate research from weather teams all over the New England area. Seriously let's get it right one time. I don't think reports that state a 60% chance of scattered snowfall for a few hours should translate to a constant two-day winter 'wonderland.' Apologies for the rant.

To add on to my previous post I thought I'd share the single biggest moment at Gillette Stadium this season. Team comradery was developed more than ever during week 16 for the AFC East champion Patriots, and it's all thanks to a 12-year old boy in the stands.

Josiah Shumaker from New London, CT was the hero last Sunday in Foxboro. “I walked out the stadium, and people were asking me for pictures and stuff,” he said. “I couldn’t get out of the gate.” This was the first NFL game he's ever been to. Will somebody this kid a playoff ticket?? The Pats are now confident, cool and collected. The drama has been put aside and they are having fun. It's about time for some post-season play.

So what will the press have to say after witnessing Randy Moss catch three TD's in New England's 35-7 romping over the Jacksonville Jaguars to clinch the AFC East Division? Many have doubted the Patriots abilities to execute on the offensive end...I think today's clinic showed the former champs as potential contenders for this year's upcoming post-season.

Quarterback Tom Brady was very pleased with his squad following the game. The two-time Superbowl MVP completed 23 of 26 passes for 267 yards and four TD's. "It's the time of year where we really need to start playing good football," said Brady, "and I think today was one of our best 60 minutes that we played all year."

While the Pats took care of business this afternoon, we can't say the same in regards to the heavily favored Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints. The 3-12 Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocked Drew Brees and the NFC leading Saints with a 47 yard FG to notch the win in OT. Indianapolis gift wrapped a victory for the New York Jets as they rested their beloved Peyton Manning at the cost of losing their first game.

At this point in the season no team can be recognized as immortal. I honestly believe there's at least eight teams out there who have a chance to win it all. I'm just happy to reiterate that the AFC East champion New England Patriots are present in the discussion.

Who's Ready for NBA Christmas Specials

The presents are open, the meals were devoured, and most of us have been through our fair share of mingling to this point. So what better than to sit back and wrap up the holiday with some NBA games on ABC.

The only two contests I'm really looking forward to are Celts Magic and Lakers Cavs. Orlando defeated the C's the last time they squared off at the TD Garden, so let's see how Boston will answer without Pierce at the Amway Arena. 5:00 PM will feature another highly anticipated Kobe vs. LeBron showdown. This will also mark one of the multiple 12/25 events where Kobe faces his old best friend Shaquille O'Neal. The media will have something to say about the rival, but its safe to say the drama has calmed over the past decade.

Now about the video, Lamar Odom just found the best present of all in the Gold Ball. As an accomplished fat kid I'd be overjoyed to find guac and con ceso secretly stored in my NBA Championship trophy. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.

It happens every year. I start seeing holiday commercials in November...ignore the Christmas spirit early and often...and finally it sneaks up on me. As my Christmas Eve work day winds down tomorrow I'll definitely be excited for the upcoming family festivities. After throwing some shoulders playing linebacker while shopping at the mall yesterday I can finally rest easy and let the good times roll. What a Reason to Dial 911

Yesterday around 2:30 a.m. a worried mother called 911 to say she couldn't get her 14 year old son to stop playing video games (Grand Theft Auto) and go to bed. The boy also reportedly walked through the house at the time to turn on every light in the house.

Officer Joe Zanoli said the mothers call "was a little unusual, but by no means is it surprising — especially in today's day and age when these kids play video games and computer games." It took two officers to take control and make the son obey his mothers wishes.

This is the best 911 call situation I've heard in a long time. Does this woman need to take a class on raising her kid? Did she ever think about just shutting the game off? Taking away the TV? Ejecting the disk from the Play Station??? I'm just going to guess this entire family is whacked out of their minds. I'm impressed with the police officers and their abilities to keep it professional... or are they just ridiculously serious about their jobs? I don't even know what I would've said to the family following the handful of minutes it'd take me to calm down from laughing.

Should I Be Going to See Avatar?

So apparently Avatar is the most promoted and expensive movie of all time...I gotta be honest I watched this trailer and I just can't get pumped about it. People have their own Avatars...one man gets operated on and turns blue and reports on their operations. That's about all I got out of it. The blue things were really freaking me out...can I handle that for over two hours?

Also, I really can't deal with the slick lines in movies and already I heard three in the trailer right off the bat. It's hard to tolerate deliveries like "your not in Kansas anymore" and "all I ever wanted was a single thing worth fighting for." But I guess it's my personal preference to not favor the corny dramatic one liners. In the end I'll definitely give it a chance in theatres because that's just how it is. Avatar is randomly the most anticipated movie of the decade so I think I'll attend with the rest.

Check the new online Tiger Woods game where the #1 golfer's not even the one holding the club... So simple and ridiculous yet so amazing. In other news regarding Tiger-gate, the AP voted him athlete of the decade despite the recent destruction of his entire image. I guess no matter what the guy did off the course, you can't take away the fact that since 2000 he's won 64 tournaments, 56 PGA Tour events and 12 majors. Lance Armstrong and Michael Phelps finished in the number 2 and 3 slots, but no one really wants to give best athlete to swimmers and bikers...

BUT WAIT! The same day we read an uplifting report on Woods we get this..."A Canadian doctor who has treated golfer Tiger Woods and many other pro athletes is under a joint U.S.-Canadian investigation for possibly providing performance-enhancing drugs, a U.S. official said. The official familiar with the investigation said Canadian authorities have been investigating Dr. Anthony Galea, who was arrested Oct. 15 in Toronto, and the FBI has been brought into the case" (ESPN.com).

Damn...it really can't get any worse. Tiger's really facing all out nuclear attacks these days. Not only do five new women confess their past relations with him on a daily basis...but now we got people talking about illegal PED use? You know how the media feels about steroids in professional sports...At least his previous issues weren't directly related to the sport. This is just a whole new can of worms right here. I personally don't think any of his accolades will be questioned once the matter is actually settled, but seriously what a time for this one to come out...Tiger, we'll see you in a few years when you decide to step back into our TV screens.

Tracy McGrady Back From Injury?

Houston Rockets franchise player Tracy McGrady finally found the floor for the first time since February on Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons. Its only been 9 months but still...for a second there I had to be reminded that he's still in the league. "My career definitely could've been over, with the type of surgery that I had," said McGrady. "It's good to be back, playing in front of the great fans here, competing with great teammates and doing something I really love to do."

I'm really pulling for the Houston Rockets this season. They haven't been able to catch any kind of break as far as injuries go. Yao Ming is still battling his way back from longtime foot problems. These two along with the entire organization have been plagued for years. Let's heal the wounds, earn more win streaks, and make a few memories damnit...Somebody's gotta beat LA in the Western Conference.

Boston Sports: Memories to Last a Lifetime

As we put a close to the double O decade its important we look back on the best times a single city could ever have in regards to the pure dominance displayed through its respective professional sports teams. Looking back I now realize just how much these organizations played a role in my most memorable experiences growing up.

Let's begin with the unforeseen start of the New England Patriots dynasty back when they shocked Kurt Warner and the "Greatest Show on Turf" at Superbowl XXXVI. Me and my 14 year old buds at the time each wore our favorite players jerseys for the big game (I was the proud owner of Ty Law merchandise). When Vinatieri sent the go-ahead field goal through the uprights we took off running down the street like nothing could stop us. That same crew met again for the following two Superbowl victories in the next three years to relive the same magic.

Moving on to the Boston Red Sox...There are so many aspects from 2004 that I'll always remember. Taking it back to the ALCS Game 3 against the rival New York Yankees, my dad and I were there to witness the longest and most painful 19-8 demolishing at Fenway Park. The game finally ended around 1:30 a.m. The crazy part comes later...A few days after recovering, my friend throws me the October issue of Sports Illustrated and tells me to flip to pg. 4 where sure enough...there's my mug shot focused in with other similar depressed faces in the crowd. Good thing they found a way to come back and notch the series...I potentially could've been the permanent model in relation to the continuation of Sad Sox.

So when Boston's off to a commanding start in the '04 World Series, I start to wonder if they're going to win it all in Game 4...the same night me and a couple buddies are set for an Incubus concert at UNH. We end up going to the concert (hey, I was in high school then that's a lot of cash to just give a ticket away) and on our way back we end up pulling into a Burger King to catch the second half of the game, marking the only significant memory I have in a fast food restaurant/parking lot.

Skipping ahead to the '07 series. This is the first time I'm in the thick of it all right near Fenway. Clearly we're all out there after the clinching victory playing the typical rioting college kid roles. It was mostly just jumping up and down enjoying the crowd...that is until I look over to see one of my good friends and teammates scale one of the light poles to get everybody hyped even more. Right there was when I knew my college and city choice was point on.

Then we get to the cherry on top...the Boston Celtics title run for Green 17. In that season I was fortunate enough to make a number of trips to the TD Garden. I got to witness the C's win over the Hawks, Cavaliers and Pistons all in person. The arena was alive for those games in the sense that everyone sitting around you was your best friend. I've never thrown so many high fives in my entire life...just great times. In a nutshell I basically just wanted to show my appreciation for Boston sports...Arguably the best experiences in my life throughout my youth were developed through their success...Hopefully there's still more to come in 2010.

Believe me I had my popcorn ready with TO, but when Chad Ochenta y Cinco takes the field I can't even leave the room anymore. NFL league officials sent this statement to the Cincinnati Bengals wide-out and marketing specialist, following his decision to rock a poncho and sombrero after scoring a TD in Sunday's win over Detroit...

“During the second quarter of the Bengals game, you were observed gesturing for, and then wearing, a decorative poncho and sombrero in the bench area…Compounding your violation is the fact that your actions were premeditated and deliberate. Prior to the game on your publicly accessible Twitter account, you posted the following: ‘What I’ve planned for today will get me fined when I score but it’s so worth it.’”

So what does Chad do this week? He goes right back on Twitter, saying "..this Sunday when I score I’m taking that loud horn from the Viking mascot and using it<–is that a fine to?" Keep it coming Ocho...you may be one of the craziest people on the planet, but you certainly know how to sell tickets and boost TV ratings. The upcoming Vikings vs. Bengals showdown should be one of the premier week 14 events for two reasons. The actual game will be competitive, and more importantly...everyone is just looking for that next hilarious moment from #85.

Big Ups to John Daly

What is going on in the PGA lately? Tiger Woods, once the most marketable man in all of sports is currently the laughing stock on tour (the league he essentially keeps above water). Nearly half of the blond population has come out saying they were having sexual relations with the #1 golfer in the world.

Secondly, who would've thought this now strapping gentlemen in the euro-pants to my top right would be making good headlines for himself.

If your mistaken I will now make everything clear through my next five words. Yes...that is John Daly. Golf's #1 head case and party animal is 115 pounds lighter and looking to explore new business ventures. Earlier this week he announced his ambitions to write another book in regards to his roller coaster lifestyle, planning to follow up on the project with a full-length feature film.

He's also made significant improvements on the golf course. The Boston Herald Reports: "Daly’s trip Down Under this year has been better than last, when he failed to qualify for the weekend in all three Australian events, the Open, PGA and Masters. He didn’t play this year’s Australian Masters, won by Tiger Woods. He made the cut at last week’s Australian Open, then shot 78 in the third round at New South Wales Golf Club. But he rebounded with a 1-under 71 in the final round and finished tied for 28th, 17 strokes behind winner Adam Scott."

So there you have it...The most unlikely scenario of Tiger Woods and Jon Daly to have switched places actually happened. But Woods really should just man up to his problems instead of avoiding the situation entirely. Daly sure isn't perfect but he's human, and look who's walking taller today...

ESPN featured an article with alternative logos for certain NFL teams based on their on-field performance. Some may be a little dated since week 5 but here's a few of my favorites...

The 4-8 Buffalo Bills and 3-9 Kansas City Chiefs have been served on a platter all season long for numerous hungry competitors. The face of Raider nation Al Davis is appropriately included in the organizations new look. Brett Favre has consistently been the topic of discussion in regards to his outstanding play in Minnesota along with his off-field mid-life drama.

Cleveland's new L design is most fitting...losing is just what they've been used to. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are long past the glorious Gruden days and back to their expansion logo, where they couldn't buy a win in their first two seasons. Earlier this week Ron Artest confessed to reporters that he drank alchohol during games when he was with the Chicago Bulls from 1999-2002. "I used to drink Hennessy at halftime," said Artest. "I kept it in my locker. I'd just walk to the liquor store and get it." NBA spokesman Tim Frank followed up with..."We have no comment and we hope Ron has a successful season."

What can you say to Ron Artest..The guy has done it all. He once pulled down Paul Pierce's shorts mid-game because he couldn't stop him. He punched out fans after an altercation escalated between him and Ben Wallace. He took a seat in the stands after the Rockets won over the Trail Blazers in a playoff series. The list just keeps going...So here's to you Ron. Thanks for keeping the NBA fresh with your crazy antics. I look forward to more news regarding your inabilities to keep sane.

Big Ups to the New York Knicks?

Are the conditions already that bad on the east coast…because the 4-14 New York Knicks scored 39 first quarter points en route to handling Steve Nash, Amare and the Phoenix Suns 126-99 last night at Madison Square Garden. Usually I wouldn't award Big Ups to New York but this dismal franchise needs all the attention it can scrape up. They actually looked promising yesterday with six guys in double-digits, outscoring the offensively dominant Phoenix Roster by 27.

21 year old Danilo Gallinari led his squad with 27 points and 10 boards. “It means a lot when you play against a team that plays your game and is at the top of the list, because they have the best record,” said Gallinari. “So it’s great for us.”

I'd obviously have to agree with Gallinari here that it’s great for the Knicks to actually defeat a premier team. As a matter of fact they should be popping bottles right now celebrating the highlight of their season. When you suck you have to know the acceptable times to celebrate. This is definitely one of those moments.

After leaving New York in complete shame the Suns are set to arrive in Cleveland tonight to matchup with the Cavaliers. Following the loss yesterday Nash accurately described his feelings using just about every possible adjective. “Terrible performance. I’m embarrassed,” said Nash. “Obviously just a disastrous effort. We just have to wash it away and pick it up tomorrow.” I think Phoenix will be eager to play tonight...out to prove they can still play basketball. Things could've been worse for the Suns...At least they didnt lose to New Jersey.

Let's Talk Tigers $164 Citation...

All I have to say about this non-issue is the police officers who wrote Tiger Woods a $164 fine for careless driving better have cracked a smile in the process. If the officers didn't laugh hysterically when issuing this particular ticket, they just take their job way to seriously. After all of the media hype around Tiger hitting a fire hydrant and tree in his driveway...this is the conclusion.

"The Patrol is not pursuing criminal charges in this matter nor is there any testimony or other evidence to support any additional charges of any kind other than the charge of careless driving," said Sgt. Kim Montes, a spokesman for the highway patrol. "Despite the celebrity status of Mr. Woods, the Florida Highway Patrol has completed its investigation in the same professional manner it strives to complete each traffic investigation."

The police's involvement really made the story worthwhile for me. Not the affair rumors...not his crazy hot wife who possibly beat him down with a 7 iron...not him dropping out of his own golf tournament this week...but the fact that Tiger Woods, the Billion dollar athlete, is required to fork up a measly hundred and change to clear up his mess. Serena Williams gets fined $82K for swearing at a judge as Woods pays off the actual law with a few crisp 20's. He should just walk into the police station, take his hat off, sign it and leave it on the counter.

When Holiday Spirit Goes Too Far...

Literally the day after Thanksgiving this is what I see from about three houses near my neighborhood while driving home from work. I guess the Christmas flood gates open up immediately for some after they've had their fair share of turkey. These people definitely prepare in June for displays like this.

Sorry if I'm the odd man out here, but this kind of behavior really Scrooges me out. Just give me a second to ease into the holiday. I don't want to feel like I'm neighbors with Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick in Deck the Halls. All I can think about is the cost of their electric bill and how much time it took to make their houses look so outrageous. When I see an 8-foot tall blow up snowman outside someone's driveway, I just want to go knock on the door and tell the guy who lives there to get a job. I love Christmas I really do, but when is it just too much?

Who's Ready for the Pats to Spoil Perfection?

It's our turn again to play underdog Monday night against the undefeated New Orleans Saints. Yes, New England Patriots, underdogs...and my confidence is through the roof heading into our biggest test of the season. Two weeks ago the Pats dominated the 11-0 Indianapolis Colts, making just two costly mistakes between Maroney's fumble and 4th and 2-gate. Aside from that Brady lit up the hurting secondary like they were back in Pop-Warner. Let's not forget their recovery 31-14 victory over the New York Jets last Sunday to gain back some momentum.

Bill Belichik has shown a great amount of respect for his upcoming opponents, comparing them to Kurt Warner and the St. Louis Rams during their "Greatest Show on Turf" era. “I can’t think of too many teams, I can’t think of any really, that are any more explosive than this team is," said Belichick. "I’ve talked about the Rams, I’ve talked about the Chargers in the early ’80s, but these guys can run with anybody.” I like Bill's choice to draw similarities here with the Rams, a team he defeated for his first Super Bowl when no one said it could be done. Since then the pressure has been on us...until now.

New England is due for a big win on the road, and now is the time if any to make a real statement. The Saints and Colts are rightfully getting the praise and attention they deserve, but sooner or later it may get overwhleming (we know from '07). Peyton Manning said a few prayers after claiming victory in Week 10. Even so, he knows who's coming back to him at Indy for the AFC Championship.

Side note: Thanks to the Miami Dolphins for blowing any chance at a playoff spot after losing to the 4-7 Buffalo Bills. Miami was counting on the Pats to fail this week in order to catch up in the AFC East. Too bad they couldn't take care of business themselves against the worst team in the Division.

Hands Down Play of the Week

Paul Pierce is just telling Chris Bosh to check himself right here. Bosh has recently been quoted saying he should be recognized as a fellow NBA mega-star alongside LeBron, Kobe and Wade. I think the Truth set the record straight regarding the comments, as he continues to have one of the most impressive seasons of his career from both ends of the floor. The C's are next set to matchup against the Miami Heat tonight at 6:00 PM. This will serve as the actual competitive contest of the night before LA embarrasses New Jersey soon after.

Place to Be: Lakers vs. Nets at Staples Center

The 0-16 New Jersey Nets are scheduled to take on the defending Champion Los Angeles Lakers tonight at 9:30 PM, for what should be the ultimate romping of the century. Maybe the WNBA's LA Sparks should fill in and give the Nets a run for their money. Those in attendance will be sure to witness some classic posterizing highlights if anything. Even if the Nets somehow earn a victory, head coach Lawrence Frank is expected to be fired when they return to the IZOD Center.

Following the demolition, New Jersey will have matched their worst losing streak set in 1978 from January 5th to February 3rd. The Nets last won on the road in March against the New York Knicks. Brook Lopez has obviously felt a sense of urgency for his team, saying "we've been pressing these last few games. When you're 0-for you're kind of pressing for a win that whole time."

The Lakers hold a respectable 12-3 record and place near the top of the West where they belong. At the least I'll take Los Angeles to win this one with a 20 point spread, while they go on to claim a few Top 10 spots in Monday's SportsCenter segment.

Before You Boast Your Mario 64 Skills

My post on Super Hang-On led for me to explore some other gaming videos, eventually leading me to Mario 64. This dude beat the game from scratch in under six minutes. It's even more impressive that he found every glitch to skip past 99% of the 'required' journey. Every single jump committed speeds up the run, including 3:09 into it when he gets thrown in the lava to reach the end of the course. I wonder how many hours he logged in to reach this kind of perfection. It looks like he spent more time with Mario than Jordan did with a basketball in his hands.

Let's Talk New York’s Pathetic November

Before I listen or read any more statements on the so called "downfall of Boston sports," I'd like to take a moment and point out the production of New York's professional athletic teams aside from the World Champion Yankees. An interesting statistic has come to my attention today...So far this month the Giants, Jets, Nets and Knicks have collectively earned seven wins from the 1st of November to the 25th. If I were to check the records last week, the Yankees would have more wins from the World Series alone this month than the four organizations could add up all together.

Simple question...Why isn't this blowing up everywhere in the media? I don't know how many times I've come across some doubters article on the Pats, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins when each team seems to be in quality shape. Save the comments on the Sox once we trade for ace pitcher Roy Halladay. Anyway, let's dive into the fascinating yet dismal November showing from New York teams across the board.

New York Giants: Manning and his boys have lost their last 4 of 5 after being ranked in October as one of the NFL's elite. Luck can only get you so far. At least Eli's jumped on the commercial train with his brother to make some cash on the side while he's still popular. I can respect that.

New York Jets: From 2-0 and "Sanchized" up to losing their last 3 contests to the Dolphins, Jaguars, and Patriots. So much hope and promise...only to be sent back down in the AFC East standings season by season.

New Jersey (Brooklyn) Nets: 0-14. Speaks for itself.

New York Knicks: 3-9 in November. Somewhat of an improvement from New Jersey even though the Nets themselves were one of the Knicks 3 victims. Come on NY quit being selfish...you already had 2 victories this month.

In case you're wondering, I didn't forget the NHL (almost did). The Rangers and Islanders are 4-5 and 5-6 this month, respectively. Both teams are just over .500 for the season with minimal chances at a title run. Overall times are hard for New York fans. People better cherish the Yanks recent World Series run...They might have to wait a while before their other beloved New York teams are winning any kind of post-season play.

Who's Ready for NFL Thanksgiving Specials?

Hmmm...I don't know....When does the NFL actually feature good games on Turkey Day? Why should this year be any different? Well first we got the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. Basically by the time I'm settled on a couch with a beer and some appetizers around the 2nd quarter, the Lions will already have gift wrapped 3 picks for this one to be in the books. Stafford's sitting out this week due to a bum shoulder. I couldn't see anything going right for Detroit even with him on the field.

The Dallas Cowboys are set to host the Oakland Raiders next at 4:15 (should make for a good food coma soundtrack). The Raiders are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season over the Cincinnati Bengals. Will this make a difference? Probably not.

To wrap up the less than thrilling festivities we have the New York Giants and Denver Broncos. This "marquee matchup" should accurately showcase nothing but which team will choke more drastically. The G-Men just notched their first victory in 5 games. Denver hasn't won since the Yanks and Angels met in mid-October for this year's ALCS.

So here I am ranting about nationally televised sub-par games every Thanksgiving. This doesn't mean I'm not watching NFL because it's inevitable...I'm roped in like clock work and that's just the way it is. As Americans on Thanksgiving we eat as much as we can and watch football. At the end of the day it's all about tradition.

With this said, why would they schedule the better games this Thursday. It's actually great marketing when you think about it. Simple, just feature the worst contests during the holiday because regardless you know families are watching across the country. It's the communal choice of TV and the NFL knows it. Touche, Goodell, touche..

Place to Be: Legends Classic at Fenway

The home of the Boston Red Sox will now be featuring a Legends competition on January 2nd, as part of the events surrounding the Winter Classic showdown between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers New Years Day. Fenway will then play host to intercollegiate cross-town rivals BC and BU the following weekend.

Clearly the real Winter Classic is the #1 place to be...that's if you'd like to break your bank to attend a mid-season hockey game outside. The atmosphere and overall set up will be entertaining in itself, so why not take it all in for 10-15 bucks. I'd rather catch the lower rate game, be able to afford the appropriate amount of beers necessary, and still leave the possibility for a vacation with the money I could've dropped on a single ticket to the actual game.

Royals to Host 2012 All-Star Game over Sox

Major League Baseball has announced plans for the Kansas City Royals to host the 2012 All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium. The Red Sox organization previously reached out to MLB officials, saying it would mean a lot for the events to take place at Fenway as part of the Park's 100 year anniversary celebration. Despite the offer, Kansas City is the favorite due to "major renovations done to the Stadium last season."

ESPN's Rob Neyer took a stand for Kansas City, saying "I hope I'm not being controversial when I say that it would have been absolutely ridiculous for the Red Sox to have gotten another All-Star Game so quickly. Obviously, in 2012 it will have been only 13 years since the last time the Red Sox hosted the All-Star Game, while it will have been nearly 40 years for Kansas City. There are a few teams with absolutely no use for the All-Star Game, and the Red Sox are one of them."

Deep down I guess can see your point but come on dude...Does tradition and loyalty play a role in this decision? The Royals can't wait another year to make a few extra bucks? Nope...instead it's better to brush off the 100 year anniversary of the most historic and beloved ballpark in the world. The New York Yankees were able to host the All-Star game for their last season at the original Yankee Stadium. Does Boston need to abandon Fenway and build a luxury Stadium for the MLB to reconsider? To top off the dismal week I check to see Dwayne Bowes fantasy projection Tuesday morning, only to find out he's been suspended 4 games for illegal PED's. Here me out on this...The Patriots just played phenomenal at Lucas Oil Stadium against the undefeated Colts. Who's to stop them from making a trip back to Indy for the AFC Championship? Better to lose now than later...The Colts have a cake-walk schedule ahead and can certainly finish the regular season at 16-0. Everything gets a little harder in the playoffs...New England knows a little something about perfect seasons. Pressure is on you Peyton.

The Pats have the AFC East wrapped up with a win over New York next week anyway. Home field doesn't matter. We beat the Steelers in the 2002 AFC game with Bledsoe in Pittsburgh. If there's a matchup featuring New England at Indianapolis again but this time for all the marbles, Billy B will be sure to have a good laugh at the media with his pinky sized up for ring #4.

Here's a look at 2 of D-Wade's 36 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday night. Definitely the best dunk we've seen so far this year. The entire crowd went ballistic after he posterized Varejao...which brings me to my next point. How much of a non-factor is Anderson Varejao? I think he forgot where he was for a second after the play went down. It's crazy how much somebody can play without doing anything. He averages 30 minutes a game, scores 7 points and gets owned on the boards all day long. Even in video games he's the worst one on the floor (2K gamers would agree).

It's here...Another classic Pats Colts showdown set for Sunday night. Quite possibly the greatest quarterback rivalry of all time. It all started in Tom Brady's rookie season as a starter with New England, when the already established Manning sought out to greet him with a simple "Hey, I'm Peyton Manning." Brady then responded with "shit, no kidding." Little did Peyton know he'd be having nightmares about the man in front of him for the rest of his NFL career. Maybe he realized it after the game when he got stomped on 44-13.

Tomorrow's matchup will definitely be a true test for both squads. Indianapolis is still undefeated after barely edging out the Houston Texans last week. The Patriots struggled early on but have since recovered, standing on top of the AFC East at 6-2. The one thing that gets to me about the rivalry is the heavy, heavy amount of class both present to the press. Everyone appreciates players with respect, but when is it too much?

Brady on Manning: “I’m always keeping up on Peyton. We talk from time to time. I have a lot of respect for him as a player and the kind of role model that he is, and for the way he carries himself, and for the way he leads his team, and for the way he’s a representative for the league. I just want to see some kind of in your face type on field challenge tomorrow. Manning throws a bomb to the endzone and points directly at Brady. Whatever these guys say, you know they can't even stand to look at each other. I don't know if anyone can genuinely like somebody that's been standing in their way for the past 7-8 years. I think $20 thousand is a bit extreme, not that Chad really gives a shit. He followed up with a statement on his twitter account..."Barrack I've just been fined again, can we meet to set up a fun rule please. I can't go to McDonalds for 2 weeks now." The league should send #85 a thank you card for bringing in more TV ratings instead of hitting him with another worthless payment. He should pay the NFL in stacks of dollar bills.

The Prophecy In Place?

This might be a little insane...but I see a direct correlation between LeBron James and Anakin Skywalker? Am I nuts or has King James been acting against the Jedi way? For those who don't follow Star Wars just bare with me. You may find this somewhat entertaining.

Revenge of the Sith primarily features Skywalker and his desire and need for greatness. He took every wrong turn possible to the point where his entire existence was completely altered to the powerful Darth Vader. Before learning the wonders of the Dark Side, Anakin was respected as one of the Jedi greats and viewed as the Chosen One. Because the council wouldn't grant him Jedi master, he grew mad while influenced by the Sith Lord Chancellor Palpatine (sorry to all true Star Wars fans for that garbage synopsis).

Back to LeBron James. To me the guy is hiding something. I think if the Cavaliers don't offer him maximum salary on top of an improved roster next year he's gone. Even so, James is currently in the process of releasing a documentary about him and his boys in Cleveland, focusing on the importance of home and family. He has previously stated that winning championships is more important than all else regarding his upcoming free-agency. Makes himself out to be one hell of a guy right?

When looking further into his motifs what do we see? For one it's evident that he firmly believes himself as the best player in the league. He has CHOSEN-1 tattooed in what basically looks like Comic Sans bold font across his back. The Yankees sit courtside to see him play. New York his calling his name. The money, cars, bright lights, and all the irresistible short term pleasures NYC has to offer are open to the one they call King. New York in relation to sports is the Death Star, and LBJ is the final piece of the puzzle.

LeBron receives so much praise from celebrity New Yorkers and obviously buys right into it. Rocking New York Yankees sneakers during games...I think we all know deep down where he'd like to be next season. We can draw parallels from the Chancellor to Jay-Z and his relationship with James . That's right Jay-Z, part owner of the Nets and potential Sith Lord. A man with goals to fully employ James as his apprentice in his all out genius marketing schemes. Running the corrupt system that is corporate New York. These dudes already make me sick when living in different areas of the country. Jay-Z writes LeBron raps, LeBron sits in the studio with Jay-Z, they throw the annual "Two Kings" bash around the time of NBA All-Star weekend.

There are only two factors holding James back from taking over the Dark Side with the Knicks or Nets. #1 - Cleveland gives him max salary and better players. #2 - Dwayne Wade and the separatist Miami Heat franchise make an offer, creating the best swing man tandem in league history (this move is actually possible...not likely...but possible).

To conclude the overall absurd comparisons, I'd like to address LeBron's movement to retire #23 for Michael Jordan across the NBA. Is this out of honest respect for Jordan? Is it another marketing plug for himself to improve his image before abandoning his hometown for more money and exposure? Does he simply want to change his number in order to completely start fresh?...new team...new number...You Decide.

LeBron James...How will he fulfill his prophecy? Will he become motivated through desire and go against the Jedi Way? Summer 2010...blowing up the media near you. We are all witnesses.

Before You Boast Your Golf Skills

Since recently posting about Mickelson I think I should expand my thoughts and opinions on the game of golf itself. To me golf is another event where everyone in their head comes out with the same statements. I don't know how many times I've heard somebody say "you know, I shoot bogey golf...nothing special." Nobody wants to be too good or too bad. The two words "bogey golf" mean nothing to me. People are either being modest, they don't want to be embarrassed, or they simply find ways to cheat and claim their desired numbers. It's always interesting to see what scores are posted after hearing the generalizations. Do me a favor and check the clip above so we can just come to the conclusion that we all suck. These guys shoot nothing but 5 under while eating a sandwich and never leaving the cart. With this said I'm still glad I spent my time enjoying the minute long clip rather than perfecting my golf trick shot skills for 20 years...One last side note...is the dude 23 seconds in hitting from a toilet seat?

Old Dudes Will Never Stop Rocking Out

So there's been a lot of talk about Steven Tyler parting ways with Aerosmith and whether the band will continue on without their longtime frontman. One article described guitarist Joe Perry to say that "Aerosmith is definitely NOT breaking up…one of the members (Tyler) is doing his own thing and said so in the press.” Tyler before this statement said he'd like to "work on the brand of myself, Brand Tyler."

I can't even believe people are really hyped up and actually care about this kind of news. First of all it may just be rumors. Secondly, the dudes are well into their 60's. They wrote their first songs together back in Allston, MA in 1970 (17 years before I was even born). Don't get me wrong I have a ton of respect for what they've done in the music industry. I also have mad respect for Julius Erving...Doesn't mean he should still expect to lace up his Nikes in the NBA. Steven Tyler fell off the stage a few months ago while performing. It's just unreliable to pay for that kind of show.

And a message to the band...just put the instruments down guys...You're legends! What more do you want? You can't just bring someone like Kid Rock or some random tribute Tyler on tour to replace your lead singer 40 years later. If he decides to stay in the band or not, its okay for everyone to just let it go in general. But seriously old dudes just can't stay out of the limelight. How many 50-60 year olds are still on tour...and how many times can Aerosmith stand to play Walk this Way? I just don't get it.

Good to see Iverson has really changed over the years and is willing to help his squad in any way he can..Seriously what is wrong with this guy. He really hasn't developed at all from his PRACTICE talk with the Sixers. I don't think any coach in their right mind would start him if he's only been to three practices along with missing all preseason. Not to say he won't start in a week or two sure..but he's got it all wrong right now especially after his showing in a Detroit Pistons uniform.

Looks like the Grizzlies organization sought out 'veteran leadership' in all the wrong places. The team definitely displays some young talent between Mayo, Conley and Randolph, but I don't see Memphis going too far with these kinds of distractions on the side. With this said I'd honestly love for Iverson to prove me wrong.

Do people understand by now that when they talk smack about the Patriots before actually playing them, Belichick has no problem simply running up the score. Apparently Joey Porter hasn't learned his lesson yet. Check his comments concerning Tom Brady and the Patriots legacy...

"No question. When a guy can tell a ref when to throw a flag, and he gets it, he's got his own rules. They made the rule that you don't go at the legs for Tom, so when he feels that someone is going at his legs, he just points to the ref and he gets a flag. So I can honestly say that he gets his own rules."

"I still don't care for New England. The hate's been there for a while, especially after all the cheating they did back in the day. They can sweep it under the rug if they want to, but just like anybody else that's cheating that gets caught, you put an asterisk by it. But nobody puts an asterisk by those championships."

He Really is Godzilla...

Hideki Matsui are you kidding me? For years he has pummelled the Red Sox to the point where every time he steps to the plate I can't help but cringe. Pedro Martinez in a Phillies uniform has a second go around at the Yankees and guess who spoils it..again. God damnit Matsui. As painful as this is I guess you gotta tip your cap when its due.

But even so there's something about New York that just irks me and I can't quite put my finger on it...Maybe its the clean shaves and mandatory crew cuts. Maybe its the organization taking loans from the government to build a multi-million dollar stadium. Maybe its creating less seats in that stadium so they can throw in more luxury boxes. Maybe its their $208,097,414 payroll.

Maybe I'm just a bitter Sox fan who lost in the ALDS this year. Admittedly, this does play a large factor. To end my necessary vent I give you the New York Post.

Who's Ready for Game 6?

How pumped is this guy that his video can actually be connected to the 2009 World Series. If anything is going to get me amped up to watch the Pedro Pettitte showdown tomorrow night on my couch it's a Rocky IV montage. Can't go wrong with that. Pedro had a strong outing in Game 2 against the Yanks despite not being able to walk away with the win. Hopefully the Phillies can give him some run support with Pettitte short on rest. Either way it should make for an exciting game. If Pettitte's as hardcore as his character above, Philadelphia may be in more trouble than expected...

Prepare to Stay Entertained

Great to hear that Rajon Rondo and the Celtics agreed to a contract extension. $55 million guaranteed for five more years isn't so bad...I say good for him. The 23 year old has certainly proved himself as one of the premier point guards in the league. Sure its easier with Pierce, Garnett, and Allen on his side, but with this he has the ability any given night to produce triple-double numbers.

Last year when KG was out for the playoffs he racked up an average of 16.9 points, 10 boards and 10 assists per game. So the #1 reason why it's good to have Rondo back for more....He gives us a shot at another NBA title or 2. I may have previously mentioned this, but barring injury there is no team out there that can beat the Boston Celtics in a series. The #2 reason I'm relieved for Boston to show Rajon the money...

We now know that for the next 5-6 years we will at least be entertained as Boston Celtics fans.

Who knows what's going to happen a few seasons from now. All I know is the future may be centered around this guy. We might not be as good, but at least we'll stay entertained. There's nothing like watching Rondo fake a pass through the lane with 3 players completely faked out and turning to Pierce as #9 sails in for the wide open lay up.

Remember the Celtics back in 2006-2007...Yeah they sucked but somewhat made up for it with their flash. Between Al Jefferson, Delonte West, Gerald Green, Tony Allen, Ricky Davis, etc..that was the most suave group of people to post such terrible results. They lost many, many games..but in style. Green would jump through the roof, Davis bought his own fan club season tickets, young Delonte and Rondo together were quite the tandem. Lets just clarify the fact that it's three times better to be a C's fan today...obviously. Don't get me wrong, having a good chance to win a championship is more than ideal.

As much as we want this Celtics roster to be intact forever it won't be. With the Rondo extension I'm simply happy that for the years to come when I buy a ticket to a game I can expect to see a show with him at PG.

Reggie Bush Showing Some Promise

I know this happened last week but Reggie Bush's TD on the Miami Dolphins was one of the more impressive plays of the season. Finally showing some athleticism once again. Dude took off from the 6 yard line and walked the rest of the way through the air. He only had 10 yards rushing and 16 receiving but with the Saints depth this year, lack of numbers is the least of their worries. Lets see how they stack up against Matt Ryan and the Falcons Monday night.

Paul Pierce Tells No Lies

Tonight before the tip off at the Celtics home opener Paul Pierce said a few kind words to the crowd about how he's looking up to 17 banners in search for that 18th. After his fourth quarter performance yesterday against the Cavaliers I gotta say...I'm all in with the Big 3 + Sheed for another title run.

LeBron dropped 38 but where was the rest of the squad. The C's bench netted 26 points to the Cavs 10. Shaquille O'Neal was able to do some damage but sorry Cleveland, its just not going to be enough.

I know its the first game but it was great to see Boston give LeBron his first L of the season in Cleveland after watching him go 39-2 at home last year. People have their doubts on the Celtics...age factors and what not. As for now this is the least of my worries. KG is sharp, Ray Allen is always ready to go, and Pierce has really brought his A game to 2009-2010. I think he's shaved about 10 pounds looking like 2001 back in the day with Walker. Shaq didn't call him the truth for no reason.

Accident Turns Mass Pike Into Beef Buffet

Two meat delivery trucks flipped over at a Mass Pike toll this morning, and you can see what happened next...Fortunately I didn't take that route today so I can have a good laugh about this one.

Nothing like sitting in traffic for an extra 45 minutes to finally view and understand the reason your late to work. Apologies to all the vegetarians out there for seeing and smelling 1,000+ pounds of raw animal in the middle of the highway.

But hey, look on the bright side..At least they chose not to charge the buck 25 at the toll while cleaning the scraps. Reports state that only minor injuries occurred along with a number of pissed off barbeque places without their pulled pork specials for the day.

I'm not going to lie...I am most definitely a fan of the Harry Potter series, but this is just absurd. Middlebury College actually put a league together which really could lead a number of students to transfer. My favorite part of the clip is when Greg Gumble gets into it and states with conviction that it "truly is a magical game." I wonder how much they pay for a top of the line Firebolt and cape. I would hope Quidditch gear doesn't run up around the same cost as hockey equipment. Seriously though, running around with a broomstick between your legs just doesn't cut it. Place To Be: Phantom Gourmet Beer & Food Phest

So I'll be working down at the Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Phest this Sunday at Suffolk Downs. Not sure why they put a PH on the fest or why they didn't add it on the food for good measure, but I'll just go with it. Anyway, I was in attendance for the food festival a couple weeks back at America's most beloved ballpark, and it was quite possibly the best hour I've ever spent in my entire life (I know...fat kid guilty as charged here).

In a span of maybe 10 minutes I ate a variety of everything imaginable. Pizza slices, crab rangoons, chicken wings, buffalo calamari (what?), spikes hot dogs, cinnamon fries, mini quesadillas, the list keeps going. I wore myself out quickly but was surely able to go back for round 2 later.

There's no telling how much better this next event will be. They'll probably cut back on some of the food items, but we will definitely be experiencing the biggest piece of the puzzle missing from last time at Fenway: Beer. Food and Beer. So simple, but what a way to end the weekend. As long as I get a TV in range for the Pats in London I'm good to go.

Oakland Raiders Acquire Pigeon?

In case you missed the less than breath taking Oakland Raiders victory over the Philadelphia Eagles...the clip above ranks as one of the top plays of the week. Al Davis seemed to have gone out of his way to find quite the special teams distraction. This pigeon not only rocked the silver and black but also really lined up and contributed to the play. The thing flew the first 40 yards in under 4.5 with the rest of the unit and proceeded to battle in the pile up. As Boomer says: "and that's why they play the game." Not because Oakland pulled out a win. No one honestly cares about a Eagles Raiders showdown. All in All, it’s the priceless moments like this that really make a shitty NFL game worthwhile.

For the Millions That Drive Into Boston Daily

This is me: every single morning. Don't get me wrong, some days are certainly better than others. Its simply built into my schedule to run into traffic on the morning commute to Boston. That's not what bothers me. What really gets to me is when the guy directly in front is leaving space for him to leisurely cruise while possibly thousands of cars are jam packed behind him. I don't think people realize this is a make or break situation. A game of inches. The ten feet between him and the next car can result in me just barely missing the next light, followed by the next one, and the next one...

This happend for a good 10 minutes today and what do you know, 5 minutes late to work. Now that I'm in the chaos every morning I really believe I'm the expert and can spot the car who's lost in the woods. I guess that's what traffic does to you. Its like being able to pick out season ticket holders compared to the first timers.

Some guy whips in between the public bus and delivery truck like he's Ricky Bobby, and you just know it took years for that kind of skill to develop. The guy blocking the left turn lane because he screwed up two minutes ago is similar to the asshole who showed up to his floor seats at the Celtics game in the second quarter. So tomorrow as I hit the back roads I can only hope the string of cars in front of me are reasonably skilled at their craft. Maybe this can be a lesson to some about traffic and the crucial seconds that can turn into minutes. If you feel as though you'll never get the two minutes you spent reading this back, I sincerely apologize.

Patriots Titans Recap

Might as well just show Tom Brady high school highlights instead. Today's 59-0 beat down over Tennessee was just so embarrassing yet entertaining I could never turn away. Good to see the Titans paying tribute this week by wearing the old Houston Oiler uniforms. Their secondary basically gift wrapped five touchdowns for Brady in the second quarter alone. He also racked up 380 passing yards and 39 fantasy points before making early dinner plans to celebrate making history. What a way for the Pats to find themselves back on top of the AFC East.

Big Ups to Pedro Martinez

Before tonight I wanted to see Joe Torre and Manny Ramirez really stick it to the Yankees in the World Series. Now I'm all for a Phillies repeat. Pedro Martinez took the hill tonight like it was the early millennium, giving up just 2 hits in 7 scoreless innings. Regardless if the Philadelphia bullpen blew the game, it was really great to see Pedro back.

It just made me think back to his glory days in a Red Sox uniform (the picture here certainly ranks as one of my favorites). I mean a few years ago he was so good the organization even hired his brother. So now that the Sox are out and Pedros looking as sharp as Stallone in Rocky IV, there's really no choice but to root for #45 and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Corn Maze for King James

So just now I'm browsing ESPN and I come across quite possibly the most ridiculous tribute ever. A Cleveland Cavaliers fan showing love for his franchise player and team by creating a maze of LeBron James himself in his cornfield. As awesome as this is how crazy is this guy, and what happens if LeBron decides to leave Cleveland next year???

This man likely spent years sculpting the MVP throughout the multiple acres of his field. Maybe this is sort of a desperation move to get LeBron to sign back with the Cavs while he's in somewhat of an empire state of mind.

Either way, I wish we could fast forward through the season (unless the C's go all the way of course) just to see the look on the guys face if LeBron ships out. But hey, I can't completely hate. It is an amazing waste of time and maybe he'll get a job after enough people see his work. But honestly...if this is what it takes to be interviewed on ESPN I'm all set.

The Red Sox Are Out...What Do We Do Now??

I think the entire New England area just needs to take a deep breath. The Red Sox clearly had a disappointing series and sure its alright to be a little down. But honestly at some point the comments get to be overwhelming..Is the Era over? What went wrong? How did this happen? I was bummed out yesterday myself but really...I'm starting to feel like Y2K just came back. Yeah you can throw a little blame every which way but sometimes you just gotta think that only one team wins it all every year.

The Sox won 95 games this season. Think of all the teams who weren't even competitive. In 2003 do I need to remind you the last Red Sox World Series was in the early part of the last century. Then we got 2 in 4 years. I think most times it simply comes down to good teams beating good teams. My point here is that there is no need to freak out when we know our boys are going to be right back in the chase next season. How many championships do the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics need to win for everyone to be satisfied.

Speaking of the Pats...I already mentioned something about this a couple weeks ago but seriously... NOOOO we lost to the undefeated Denver Broncos in OT...Are the glory days coming to an end??..Be serious. With a win next week we are 4-2 and right where we want to be. The best thing about Boston unlike places such as Milwaukee, Buffalo, Atlanta, Houston (think of other shitty professional sports locations) is when our beloved team loses, we got more titles to contend.

face right here. The C's and B's are just getting underway and I couldn't be more excited. No need to panic Boston. We have four teams that fight for championships year by year. Its going to be okay. Here are Matt Holliday's comments after taking a trip back to little league in last night’s NLDS game against the Dodgers. “I didn’t see the ball. Obviously, I can catch a ball that’s hit right at me. It’s very difficult to swallow. We had a chance to win the game. It was unfortunate that it happened when it did.” I personally just love how the guy thinks he should clarify that YES, he CAN in fact catch a baseball. I hope he can come out with something spectacular for Game 3. As long as the Cards win tomorrow St Louis fans should be able to rest easy. If LA sweeps, forget about it..

$ Crabtree Says Show Me the Money $

Congratulations to Michael Crabtree. He will finally be collecting the millions of dollars the San Francisco 49ers have been pretty much been offering him for past several months. Glad to see he finally figured out that without signing all season, he may be short just a few pennies heading into 2010. It's just shocking to see how long this hold out went on, but atleast its over now. I really thought he was going to hold out all year. The guy is 22 years old. I'm 22 years old and there are a lot of things in this world I would do for the $30+ million he'll be receiving (granted I'm not in the NFL). Lets think of some reasons why Crabtree and the 49ers came to an agreement...

1. Maybe since San Francisco is actually good he changed his mind.

2. Michael Crabtree's mother finally slapped him and said take the money.

3. He asked for financial advice from someone other than his "agent" (really his cousin).

4. A $32 million deal that could maximize to $40 million is enough to luxuriously spend multiple lifetimes? ($17 million guaranteed if he doesn't even do anything) I think I'll go with this one.

Either way, Crabtree has informed ESPN "I'm just glad I'm past that part. I'm very humble right now, man, it's a very humbling experience. Just getting a chance to sit back and better myself as a person, as a player, as a teammate. ... I feel like going through that it made me look at the world in a different way, look at my teammates a different way. Hopefully it will work out for the best." Good to know this was a "humbling" experience for you Mike. No worries, once you get that first paycheck it will most definitely work out for the best.

So far Week 4 has proved meaningful with teams really showing their true colors. New England's offense looked sharp while rookie Sanchez gift wrapped 3 picks for New Orleans. Archie Manning had a fun day in front of the flat screen while watching his boys lead their respective teams to 61 points combined. The only surprise to me so far is the San Francisco 49ers. Where did they come from? They are now 3-1 after demolishing the Rams 35-0. Regardless if St. Louis sucks, the 49ers quite possibly could be this years Arizona Cardinals. Vikings Greg Lewis can be thanked for their only loss, after somehow snatching Brett Favre's 40+ yard TD pass to pull ahead in the final seconds.

Moving on to the Monday night showdown...Will Favre show his true colors? Can he pull off that kind of magic against his new found rival Green Bay Packers? This is what everyone has been waiting for since Favre couldn't make up his mind all summer, again...He once said he wanted to "stick it to Green Bay" but has since denied making those statements. Some will be donating 5 dollars to charity for every Favre item that's burned tomorrow (way to keep it classy cheeseheads). Favre is 3-0 this year and is a game up on his former squad. Monday's contest will definitely have a lot of weigh on how the NFC North will play out.

Ochocinco To Release Autobiography

All-Star Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochenta y Cinco, Ochocinco, Johnson, or whatever is set to release his autobiography titled Ocho Cinco: What Football and Life Have Thrown My Way. I don't know what your thoughts are on this one but I CAN'T WAIT. We finally get to read first hand (with the grammar corrections from co-writer Jason Cole of course) the real trials and tribulations of good old #85. The cover just sums it all up, doesn't it? ESPN journalist Rick Reilly has already got his hands on the brilliant masterpiece and describes it as a must read. In his latest article he goes into how Ochocinco has unnecessarily thrown many NFL co-workers under the bus along with his comments on many other off-field life endeavors. Look forward to Ochocinco further discussing..

Taking on other sports: "F*** yeah, I could play easy"(regarding the NBA before going into professional boxing). "I don't know what my contract says about boxing, but I don't care. You know why? Let's Talk Pro Mascots

It has just come to my attention that the Pittsburgh Steelers introduced possibly the worst mascot of all time back in 2007. After pondering for a while where "Steely McBeam" ranks among the least popular mascots, I had no choice but to come up with a top 5 myself. So the top 5 worst Pro mascots in my opinion are..

5. Stuff from the Orlando Magic: All I can say about Stuff is that I was at an Orlando Magic game a couple years ago and just didn't get it. I guess hes a Magic Dragon but goes by Stuff? Aside from this Magic fans just ate him up. My questions and overall concerns in relation to Stuff and his followers were so mind consuming that I almost don't even remember anything else about the game.

4. Raymond Ray from the Tampa Bay Rays: This is just disappointing. First of all the thing is classified as a Sea Dog. If you name your team after a specific species don't you think your mascot should some what resemble it? Nah, we can just make it a Sea Dog. Close enough.

3. Rumble the Bison from the Oklahoma City Thunder: He just doesn't do it for me. It's a Bison that dunks. Good thinking by the marketing guys to relate the mascot by throwing "Rumble" in the name.

2. Steely McBeam from the Pittsburgh Steelers: Thanks Steely, you were the real inspiration to write this post. The Steelers on top of their rich tradition decided to just throw in a lumberjack mascot with a porn star name. Seriously.. Steely McBeam? They said on PTI that it's supposed to resemble former head coach Bill Cowher, making it even more absurd yet hilarious.

and the #1 worst mascot in all of professional sports is....

Chief Wahoo from the Cleveland Indians. This mascot was so terrible in every way that they were actually forced to eliminate it. In a nutshell (clearly shown by the picture) Chief Wahoo is a Native American with a shit eating grin on his face. Congratulations Cleveland, your retired Wahoo still takes number 1 on my list.

Big Ups to the Detroit Lions

Sunday marked yet another thrilling day of NFL football. The story that tops them all is the Detroit Lions snapping their 19 game losing streak and earning their first W since 2007. "We not only got the monkey off our back, we got King Kong off our back," said Lions owner William Clay Ford. "I'm hoping that this gets us over that hump and gives us a winning attitude."

Well Billy, although the organization can have a week to keep their heads high, I wouldn't say the 'winning attitude' is all in place. I was personally just pumped to see them barely edge out the Skins. After throwing five interceptions in his first two league games while his boy Mark Sanchez has been ripping it up in New York, Matthew Stafford actually looked like a confident quarterback today. He threw for 241 yards with a TD from 21 completed passes.

Lions head coach Jim Schwartz when asked if he doubted his young leader before week 3 stated and made clear that Stafford is still the right guy for the job. "I have a lot of confidence in Matt’s ability, not only as a player, but his ability to lead this team and his ability to help us win," said Schwartz. "I think he’s going to be our quarterback, he is our quarterback, and we’re all going to be very happy with him as a quarterback." Stafford can now finally take a deep breath and enjoy himself, at least until their next game against the Chicago Bears. The important thing is that the streak is over. Life is a little better for Detroit Lions fans.
